How to preserve your Hydrangeas
The hydrangea flower is perfect for bouquets. Humidity and temperature are the key for these flowers to last a long time.

If you want to preserve your hydrangeas, follow these tips:

  • Cut the stems a little before putting them in the vase. This cut has to be at an angle, and it has to be done with a sharp knife. Doing it with scissors is not recommended, as this crushes the stem, obstructing the vessels where the flower is nourished.
  • Add a tablespoon of sugar to the water in the vase, which should be cold, to provide enough nutrients to the flowers.
  • Keep the bouquet away from constant strong air currents to prevent the water on the petals from evaporating quickly.
  • Put the flowers in a place as cool as possible. Excessive heat wilts the hydrangeas.
  • Spray the bouquet with water frequently, it increases the duration and freshness of the flowers. A very dry environment has the same effect as a vase without water.
